Sara’s Story
Sara’s story starts back in 2006, when she hit her top weight at 398 pounds. But it wasn’t until 2018 that she decided enough was enough.
“I decided I wanted to live longer than my mother did, who passed shortly after turning 61,” She said, as one of her drivers for reaching out to Surgical Weight Control center.
“So a few months before my 55th birthday in the fall of 2018, I reached out to the Surgical Weight Control Center and have not regretted it for a
moment! I was 349 pounds when I attended my very first nutrition class. I went home that day and took my before picture, so I could remember this as the last day I am ever going to be this overweight. Michelle, my nutritionist was very knowledgeable and kind, taught me how to eat healthy for the rest of my life. I lost 43 pounds before my surgery date with her help.”
Sara continued to see meaningful results after her laproscopic sleeve surgery, perofrmed by Dr. Soong, in both her physical and mental health.
“As of today, I am down another 144 Lbs. I fully believe Dr. Soong and the team at the Surgical Weight Control Center saved my life. I had my laparoscopic sleeve surgery one year before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and I am not sure I would have made it though it at 300+ pounds. I will be 61 this year and want to say, thank you to Dr. Soong and the Surgical Weight Control Center for changing my life!”
